On an extremely narrow 3m wide site in the heart of Surry Hills, our clients presented us with the task of reconfiguring and extending their existing floor plan so as to maximise the lack in sense of space. Such a location called for careful planning and design to overcome the common spatial restrictions and heritage constraints typical of most inner Sydney terraces. Despite these spatial complexities and strict heritage guidelines, our clients put complete trust in our ability to make an informed decision as to the best approval pathway for the project. Our result provides this young family with a new kitchen and dining area on the ground floor as well as two new bedrooms and a new bathroom on the first floor which they so desperately required.
